The Beauty of Our Stories
It has taken me a while to get here. But I’m here. At a place where I can look back and have peace about my past. Not because I loved everything about it but because I see now that all along God was there. During my most memorable moment to the least memorable moment of my life.
My story is a mixture of light and darkness colliding together to show the world that in-spite of it all Gods mercy is real and His grace is sufficient no matter what your journey has been. It ALL somehow continues to work for GOOD.
There is something so beautiful about sharing your story. It’s encouraging. It gives hope. It enlightens. It can even challenge some to deal with certain areas of their life that they have been avoiding.
More importantly it brings God glory and it can lead someone else to Christ. Isn’t that what the bible consist of? Stories, testimonials of truths, mistakes, and triumphs?
Think about how the stories in the bible like Simon-Peter going from denying Jesus to then preaching and saving thousands. What about Saul-Paul the EX Christian killer who had an encounter with Jesus and was converted to an Apostle for Jesus. Or David the adulterer who God later acknowledged as a man after his own heart.
Do you see how their stories of good and not so good moments colliding together through the grace and mercy of God has encouraged many of us to keep walking in the faith?
One of my favorite stories in the bible is the woman at the well. In John 4: 39 after she had an experience with Jesus she went back to her community to share her testimony. By doing that, “Many of the Samaritans from that town, believed in Him because of the woman’s testimony.” John 4:39
One woman’s story brought change to a whole community.
I’m wondering, who are the people in your community, at your job, or even at the grocery store that need to hear your story? Your testimony of how God has given you the grace and mercy to overcome something through the blood of Jesus Christ.
Don’t leave out the not so great moments either people need to see that you’re human just like them. They need to understand that sin no longer has the power to keep us from having an authentic relationship with God because Jesus stands in the gap.
Do you see it now?
There is beauty and power in your story. Maybe God has been pressing you to do it but you’ve been holding back. Don’t hide it share it. Be authentic.
“They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.” Revelation 12:11
